In October 2018, and in partnership with Hogs for the Cause, Children’s Hospital opened Hogs House to provide on-campus housing for families who live outside New Orleans with a child who is receiving ongoing care at the hospital.
The Hogs House project transformed a historic 1920’s townhouse on a former military hospital campus, located next to Children’s, into 13 family suites with private bathrooms, common areas with two family lounges, kitchen spaces, and a laundry room.

- Private bathrooms
- Wi-Fi
- Flat-screen TVs
- Mini refrigerators for breastfeeding mothers and to store medications
2 Family Lounges
- Recreational spaces with TV, games, and activities on both floors
Kitchen Spaces
- Families are able to cook their own meals during their stay
Laundry Room
- Washer and dryer for families to wash clothes
