Children’s Hospital Nursing Unit Renovations New Orleans, Louisiana

Located on the Children’s Hospital campus in New Orleans, this project consists primarily of architectural upgrades to 19,750 SF of the main patient tower. A multi-phased delivery in which the hospital will vacate one floor at a time for construction activities which must be completed before the subsequent floors are made available, requires the utmost in precise coordination efforts.

Scope of the project includes renovations and reconfiguration of the existing central nurse stations and patient room upgrades on Floors 2-6 of the main bed tower. In addition to the new casework and reconfigured support spaces, upgrades include new flooring, acoustical ceilings and paint. Existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems will be modified to accommodate the architectural changes and new head walls. The patient tower corridors will also receive upgraded finishes in the form of flooring, wall protection and paint. The corridors will receive new acoustical ceilings and lighting while the existing nurse call, fire alarm and sprinkler systems will be modified per the new ceiling layout.
