We’d like to recognize our Lemoine Wellness Champion of the Month for March – Lance Campbell!
For those of you who don’t know, Lance started as a Superintendent in June 2009. His first major project was Homewood Suites in Lafayette, LA. Currently, he is working as a Superintendent in Marrero, LA working on the West Jefferson Medical Center.
To stay healthy, Lance constantly stays busy and walks the jobsite every day. In his free time, he rides his bike for exercise. To the best of his ability, Lance tries to avoid “trash food”. He eats lots of chicken and fish throughout the week.
He began his journey last Thanksgiving. He experienced respiratory trouble that was amplified by a COVID-19 diagnosis. As a result, he quit smoking, vaping, and use of all tobacco products.
Lance stays motivated by his wonderful wife, Monique. He says “she cooks and is knowledgeable about healthy habits. She keeps me on track when I want to stray”. Lance also has 5 grandchildren to keep up with and wants to continue working as long as physically possible.
Lance’s advice about living a healthy lifestyle is “Apathy doesn’t work; be proactive and do the work. Good genes don’t always mean that you’re going to be healthy.”
Awesome job, Lance! We are so proud of you! Keep striving to be a healthier version of yourself every day!
