Scope of this project included replacing major components that make up the water treatment system for the entire Angola prison population, currently about 6,500 inmates. Work included replacement of eight pressure filters, the filter face piping systems, and instrumentation and electrical systems. In addition, the project removed and replaced the supporting gravels and filter media in an additional four existing filters and replaced the three existing raw water meter systems. Lemoine self-performed demolition of existing filter equipment, concrete supports and filter piping, construction of new concrete supports, rebuilding of the existing backwash basin, installation of the new process equipment, erection of all the piping systems, installation of temporary back wash water drains, and restoration of the filter gallery back to its original condition.
