In 2007, a comprehensive site and facility master plan for the Our Lady of Lourdes Replacement Hospital Campus was proposed. Design for a new campus then began, as years of unplanned additions and renovations to the current location rendered hospital clinical areas obsolete and left no choice but to begin anew.
The six-floor, 389,000 square foot facility will house all acute care clinical services, will have 192 private patient rooms (168 of which will be built during the current phase and 24 of which will be shelled for future growth), and will rest on a 45-acre greenfield site. The replacement facility will be comprised of state-of-the-art acute care hospital, 1,500 parking spaces, a 16,000 square foot Central Energy Plant designed for future growth, and will be structurally engineered for future expansion of two additional floors. The project team, in concert with the OLOL team, is utilizing numerous LEED concepts, including a Green Roof System.
The Replacement Hospital will be the epicenter of the OLOL campus, which will additionally include a Cancer Center, Heart Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Convent, Spa/Fitness Center, and an Outpatient Clinic and Medical Office Building.
